Plans that stand on their own
- Accompanying status route
- Separate work-authorisation check
- Career or study alternatives
- Independent daily transport

Korea can offer a rich, convenient daily life for couples and families. The move becomes credible only when partner status, children's education, healthcare, housing and the full household budget are checked separately.
Korea Immigration Service identifies dependent-family routes for eligible family members of certain status holders. That does not by itself confirm a partner's right to work. The proposed route, documents and any work permission must be checked for the individual case through the relevant authority.
Mark each answer confirmed, conditional or unconfirmed. A friendly assurance is not the same as a school place, immigration decision or contractual benefit.
Which status is proposed for each family member, and who owns each document and deadline?
If a partner wants to work, what separate status or permission must be confirmed before relying on that income?
Which child-education route is realistic for the actual address, age, language needs, calendar and budget?
When will each family member be eligible for health coverage, and what covers any gap?
Does the housing, commute and transport plan work for every weekday—not only for the educator?
One strong school role cannot compensate for an unresolved partner plan, unavailable child place, unsuitable home or healthcare gap. Keep each lane visible until it has evidence.
Official Korean practical-law guidance states that foreign-national children residing in Korea can access public education and describes local admission procedures. Actual placement, documents and support still require confirmation with the relevant school or education office. For a foreign or international school, verify eligibility, grade placement, language of instruction, tuition, staff remission, transport, calendar and availability directly with that school.
Food, culture, regional travel, local services and connected urban routines can make life beyond school rewarding. The family decision should translate that promise into a real weekday map.
Plot school, partner destination, childcare, groceries, clinic and transit from the proposed home.
Run the educator's schedule and the rest of the household's schedule separately.
Korea Immigration Service provides its Visa Navigator and multilingual 1345 consultation. The Ministry of Government Legislation explains public-school access and admission procedures for foreign children. NHIS explains employee, individual and dependent coverage routes and the evidence used for dependent status.
